KUCB is a nonprofit community media organization with a mission to inform, educate, entertain and engage.

Our signals first went live in 1974, and we became an independent nonprofit in 1984. Since our earliest broadcasts, we’ve offered front-row seats to important news and cultural stories in the region.

This series tells the station's history from some of the people who helped build our organization into what it is today.
