Unalaskans will celebrate Saturday's Heart of the Aleutians festival at a new location.
This year, the festival is billed as a downtown block party rather than an Unalaska Valley event at Kelty Field.
"We thought it would be fun to try a new location," said Nick Cron of the city's Department of Parks, Culture, and Recreation. "The softball field has been pretty damp, so we wanted to try something new."
Cron said the festival's food, games, and live music will unfold along Broadway Ave. between Town Park and 5th Street.
While the party is underway, vehicle traffic will be re-routed through Bayview Ave. and King Street.
The Heart of the Aleutians Festival runs Saturday, Aug. 17 from from 2 to 8 p.m.
