Two more people have been charged in connection with Sand Point's recent fentanyl overdoses, one resulting in the death of a 26-year-old woman from King Cove.
Eileen Dushkin, 36, and Darrin Karlsen, 28, both of Sand Point, were indicted last week on charges of manslaughter and second-degree misconduct involving controlled substances, which are class A felonies.
The charges match those already filed against Sand Point residents Michael Gundersen, 44, and Jeremy Krone, 37, both of whom are in custody with bond set at $350,000 and 400,000, respectively.
According to Sand Point police, all four people were involved in the Sept. 1 death of Raylene Kochuten. She overdosed on counterfeit oxycodone hydrochloride pills, which police said were contaminated with the synthetic opioid fentanyl.
Police said Dushkin and Karlsen turned themselves in Saturday, Sept. 14.
