The U.S. Coast Guard has medevaced three mariners in four days from fishing vessels near Cold Bay.

On Monday, officials say the F/V Vaerdal was 70 miles north of the community when a crew member reported suffering from chest pains.

The Coast Guard Cutter Midgett launched a Dolphin helicopter crew to medevac the man from the vessel and take him to Cold Bay for treatment.

On Tuesday, the same helicopter crew rescued an F/V Ocean Peace crew member, who was displaying symptoms of appendicitis. The vessel was 115 miles north of Cold Bay at the time, and the man was taken there before he was transported to Anchorage.

Thursday another Dolphin helicopter evacuated a crew member from the F/V Golden Alaska. The vessel was 36 miles northwest of Cold Bay when the woman began suffering from symptoms of a respiratory infection.  She was transported to Unalaska for treatment.
