Unalaska’s long-awaited library renovation and expansion is moving forward, and plans are confirmed to close the library’s current location in mid-March and move to the Burma Road Chapel; the Coast Guard medevaced an injured crew member Monday from a fishing boat near St. Paul; and last month, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce declared disasters for over a dozen fisheries in Alaska — more than the feds usually approve at once.

Born in rural Northern California, Hope started as a reporter and producer at KZYX in Mendocino County. She then worked at Kichwa Hatari — the first Quechua language radio station in the U.S., based in New York — and KQED in San Francisco.
