The City of Unalaska will start distributing CARES Act funds to non-essential businesses that had to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic as early as Monday, according to city officials; a fisheries management agency in the Trump administration is telling staff, including those in Alaska, not to use the words "COVID-19" or "pandemic;" and to protect salmon returning to McLees Lake, and in order to meet the minimum escapement goal, from July 1 through July 9, salmon may not be taken within 500 yards of the outlet stream terminus to McLees Lake.
