A Kodiak man died May 2 while fishing in the Bering Sea.
Alaska State Troopers report 55-year-old Christopher O’Callaghan was struck in the chest with a line when the F/V Ocean Hunter was transferring fish to another vessel.
Officials say the line caused bruising and internal injuries resulting in his death. Multiple crewmembers witnessed the incident.
O’Callaghan’s body was transported to Unalaska and then the State Medical Examiner by request of his next of kin.
