Alaska State Troopers have seized another stash of heroin and methamphetamine bound for Sand Point, marking the community’s second airport drug bust in the last month.
Troopers arrested Christian Anderson-Nutt on Sept. 29, following a joint narcotics investigation with the Sand Point Police Department.
Police Chief Hal Henning said the 21-year-old Sand Point man was “exhibiting drug trafficking behavior” at the Anchorage airport, leading officials to examine his luggage with a drug-sniffing dog.
Their search revealed almost 19.8 grams of heroin, 52.3 grams of meth, and $6,570 in cash.
In total, Henning said the bust stopped 721 doses of drugs from being sold in Sand Point, where the street value is estimated at $72,100.
Anderson-Nutt was taken into custody and charged with two felony counts of misconduct involving controlled substances. Now out on bail, he’s due in Anchorage court on Oct 24.
