U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan is visiting Unalaska Wednesday as part of a trip dedicated to Arctic security.
According to his staff, Alaska's junior senator is touring several communities that house U.S. Coast Guard units to discuss the "commerce and security challenges" facing areas in and near the Arctic.
Sullivan, a Republican, is traveling with Coast Guard Vice Commandant Charles Ray, as well as U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, a Mississippi Republican who chairs the Senate commerce committee.
City officials are hosting a community meet-and-greet with all three men at the Grand Aleutian Hotel on Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
