After a wet and windy morning, the clouds parted to reveal sunny skies for the 44 participants in the PCR’s Summer Solstice Run on Tuesday at 7:30. The two-mile race began under the bright pennant flags lining a portion of Henry Swanson Drive in front of the Carl E. Moses Harbor.
Family and friends watched and cheered the runners on the warmest day of the year so far.
PCR Recreation Coordinator Korey Ayers announced the winners.
Henry Simmonds took first place overall as well as first place in the Teen Boys division with a time of 13:53. Second place overall went to Andres Ayures, who also took first place in the Mens division. Third place overall went to Beatriz Dietrick, who also placed first in the Womens division. Bridget Nalam placed first in the Teen Girls division, Kaden Lynch placed first in Youth Boys, and Kinley Lynch placed first in Youth Girls.
