The Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska intends to solicit assistance from the Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training Program (IRT). Working strategically with the Unalaska Trilateral Commission to promote efforts that encourage the local government/Tribal government/Tribal corporation's collaborative decision-making processes for an Arctic Port with a joint Navy and Coast Guard installation in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor, the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska requests a follow up to our 2020 IRT Training Report to be able to conduct a Civil Affairs Assessment. The proposed assistance will take place at Unalaska/Dutch Harbor in the year two thousand twenty-two (2022). Construction contractors, labor unions, or private individuals who have questions or who wish to voice opposition to military assistance for this project, may contact Christopher L. Price from the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska at (907) 581-2920 or via email at chris@qawalangin.com no later than thirty (30) days after the first publication of this notice. Persons not filing comments within the time frame noted will be considered to have waived their objections to military assistance for this project.
