“Childhood of Shawn Dolohan” is a story about a freshman in Unalaska City School that once lived in the Philippines and had a difficult life, but managed to overcome it. While interviewing him face to face, I learned that in Davao, Philippines, his family dealt with drugs and rebels, but when moving to California, his family worked there for a couple of years, then finally move here to Unalaska, Alaska to find a better life. This piece is one of a kind because it teaches other people that past is past, and we need to start moving on with our lives and hope for the best in the future.
