Eruptive activity at a remote Alaska volcano led to concern about harmful ash emissions late last week, but scientists have now downgraded their alert; Alaska will offer tourists vaccinations starting on June 1st as part of the state's plan to assist tourism-related businesses; and an aerospace and technology company is considering building key parts of a satellite network in Alaska, that it says could help improve internet access across the globe.

Hailing from Southwest Washington, Maggie moved to Unalaska in 2019. She's dabbled in independent print journalism in Oregon and completed her Master of Arts in English Studies at Western Washington University — where she also taught Rhetoric and Composition courses.
