In Memoriam: George Juelch

It is with deepest sympathy that I announce the death of Sergeant Major George D. Juelch JR., age 54 on 21 February 2020 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Laurie; mother, Karen; brothers, Charles and Christopher; sister; Kathy; and grandmother, Ruby.

Sergeant Major Juelch was born in Stockton, California. He enlisted into the California Army National Guard on 27 April 1984 and served until 2 January 2012. Sergeant Major Juelch transferred to the Washington Army National Guard on 3 January 2012 and served through 1 November 2013. He transferred to the California Army National Guard on 2 November 2013 and served through 25 October 2014. Sergeant Major Juelch transferred to the Alaska Army National Guard on 26 October 2014 and served until his passing. He performed duties as a Command Sergeant Major, G4 Sergeant Major, and Senior Logistics Operations NCO. Sergeant Major Juelch served in CONUS support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM from 2003-2005 and overseas for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM from 2005-2006. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Combat Action Badge.

A viewing will be held at 1230 on Saturday, 14 March 2020, at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, Washington 98203 followed by funeral services at 1300 and reception at 1500. The Unit Memorial will be on Saturday, 4 April 2020 at Joint Force Headquarters-Alaska, Building 49000, Army Guard Road, JBER, Alaska 99505.
