The Unalaska City Council has approved $35,000 in scholarships for graduating seniors.
At the regular meeting last week, councilors voted unanimously to split the funds between all 20 applicants. The names of the scholarship recipients and award amount will be announced at the high school graduation on Saturday.
At the next meeting, the council will have a second reading of the 2019 operating and capital budget.
