A COVID-19 outbreak at one of Alaska's largest fish processing plants has grown to infect more than 40 percent of workers; four finalists have been selected in the Unalaska School Board's search for a new superintendent; and Maniilaq Association, the health care provider in Northwest Alaska, has gotten approval to make and serve their own seal oil to Kotzebue elders in long-term care.

Hailing from Southwest Washington, Maggie moved to Unalaska in 2019. She's dabbled in independent print journalism in Oregon and completed her Master of Arts in English Studies at Western Washington University — where she also taught Rhetoric and Composition courses.
