Unalaska's clinic is one of two community health centers in Alaska now involved in COVID-19 contact tracing efforts; the State of Alaska set a record for new COVID-19 cases among residents yesterday, but a top hospital industry official says that facilities aren't seeing a spike in the number of patients; and Unalaska will soon be home to a community banya—or steam bath—as part of a cultural build project involving the Qawalangin Tribe, the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, and other community partners. 

Hailing from Southwest Washington, Maggie moved to Unalaska in 2019. She's dabbled in independent print journalism in Oregon and completed her Master of Arts in English Studies at Western Washington University — where she also taught Rhetoric and Composition courses.
