NPR's Sunni Khalid visits the Syrian village of Maaloula (mah-LOO-lah) one of the few places left in the world where the ancient language of Jesus Christ is being passed on orally from generation to generation. Aramaic (air-ruh-MAY-ick) is a precursor to both Hebrew and Arabic and many scholars believe parts of the original gospels were written in Aramaic.
