Unalaska's Department of Public Safety (DPS) is still investigating a fire that burned a boat to its waterline in Captains Bay last weekend.
According to a DPS statement, a concerned citizen told officers on Aug. 20 that the M/V Rebecca was burning at the head of Captains Bay while tied to another boat, the vessel Grave Robber.
With a criminal investigation underway, DPS officials have issued two search warrants related to the incident and recovered "several items" believed to be stolen from the M/V Rebecca. The city is also working with the vessel's owner and Resolve Marine Group to remove diesel that leaked from its fuel tank into Captains Bay.
DPS officials have asked anyone with information on fire to call investigator Chris Honan at 581-1233.
