The City's inaugural holiday tree lighting event is being postponed due to inclement weather.
Parks, Culture and Recreation manager Albert Burnham says the event, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 1, will now happen one day later.
"The event is being put on by the PCR Advisory Committee and they decided to move it because of the high winds and poor weather today," Burnham said Tuesday morning. "Tomorrow, according to the weather forecast at least, it's looking like it will be a much nicer evening for an outdoor tree lighting event."
The tree lighting ceremony will take place at the same place and time - 6:30 to 7:30 in front of Burma Road Chapel - on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Hot cocoa will be on tap for this all-ages, free event.
