The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a man from a fishing vessel near Dutch Harbor Monday morning.
According to a Coast Guard press release, the crewmember experienced abdominal pain, headaches, and a fever for several days before his condition worsened.
That's when a Seattle health company called the Coast Guard on behalf of the F/V Unimak, requesting an immediate medevac for the sick crewmember.
The Coast Guard deployed an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Dutch Harbor. The helicopter crew hoisted the man from the vessel and transported him to emergency medical services in Dutch Harbor.
