Laresa G. Moses

Devoted Mother and Grandmother

March 16, 1953 – September 8, 2018

Laresa lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at her home in Anchorage, AK surrounded by her family. Laresa was born in Unalaska, AK to Margaret Anderson (Makarin) and graduated from Unalaska City School in 1972.

Laresa spent the majority of her life in Unalaska where she raised her four boys. She owned and operated Carl’s Inc from 1991-2006 with her husband Carl Moses that he started in 1966. She then moved to Sand Point to open a Carl’s Inc store. She most recently was living in Anchorage and working at APIA. She was heavily active in her communities.

Laresa could accomplish anything she set her mind to and was not told “No” very often. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Laresa experienced her boisterous personality. She was so alive and spirited, everyone around her couldn’t help but smile along. Laresa was young at heart and had a zest for life; even as she battled through the cancer she continued to do two of the things she loved most, taking trips and spending time with her grandchildren. Those that knew her well will always remember Laresa walking through the Carl’s store in Unalaska playing Christmas music in October.

Laresa will forever be remembered by her sons, Patrick (Chassidy) Dushkin of Cloquet, MN, Ti Dushkin of Adak, AK, PJ Dushkin of Adak, AK and Mepp (Joyce) Dushkin of Anchorage, AK. Her brothers Eugene (Laura) Makarin, John Anderson and treasured grandchildren Caleb, Liorah, Trevor, Aiden, Grace, Logan, Brody, Cyrus and Brooke. Niece Kathleen Makarin and Nephews Kenneth and Sean Makarin. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl Moses, Mother Margaret Anderson (Makarin), Grandmother Maria Makarin, Brothers Terry and Jerry Anderson.
