Councilor Tungul Will Run For Reelection, But The Rest Of Unalaska's Ballot Remains Blank

Berett Wilber/KUCB

With the deadline looming, only one Unalaskan has filed to run for local office this fall.

City Councilor Alejandro "Bong" Tungul is running for reelection at seat F.

Tungul was first appointed to the council in 2013.

As of Monday morning, Deputy City Clerk Roxanna Winters said no one has declared candidacy for City Council seat G, currently held by Shari Coleman, or school board seat A, currently held by Tammy Fowler Pound.

All three seats come with three-year terms.

Prospective candidates must file at City Hall by Thursday, Aug. 16. The election is Oct. 2.
