Promoting positive community and economic growth in our city.

Jeff Treannie was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He attended East Valley High School and Spokane Community College. He spent most of his time on the farm with his grandparents raising cattle and sheep.

Jeff first heard of Unalaska/Dutch Harbor Alaska due to an ad in the Spokane newspaper looking for processors at UniSea, Inc. He was immediately interested in the position and applied. Jeff moved to Dutch Harbor, AK in January 2007. Jeff worked for UniSea for about a year and a half when other job opportunities arose. He worked at Magone Marine from 2008 until 2012 when he became employed through the ILWU.

He met his wife, Sharon, in 2010. She grew up in Unalaska since the age of 4 and attended Unalaska City School from Kindergarten until graduation. They have 5 kids. His eldest daughter attends the Unalaska City High School and his two younger daughters attend Eagle’s View Elementary.

Jeff bought a home in 2014 here in Unalaska after he knew this was a place he wanted to stay and raise his family. He felt that this was a pleasant, safe community with a lot of diversity and a lot of opportunities that his whole family would benefit from. He and his wife also own and operate a small business here in Unalaska called Island Grind, which is a drive-thru espresso shop.

Jeff feels that he is heavily invested in this community and would like the opportunity to be a part of the decision making that will directly affect our economy and community. He believes we need to move forward in upgrading our infrastructure, reviving our recycling program that Unalaska once had, and looking into different forms of renewable energy.

In his spare time, Jeff likes to play softball, fish and barbeque during the summer time. He also enjoys watching football, playing Men’s league basketball at PCR in the fall and most importantly, spending time with his family.
