A big thanks to Lori Lane and Rande Leggett for their amazing work as sportscasters last night. KUCB was unable to find a crew to call the games, and we were grateful for the assistance of these two volunteers. Their coverage kicked off 4 days of live radio broadcasts from the Kenai Peninsula.
Rande and Lori went above and beyond to bring basketball coverage to friends and family back home. You can help too! We are in the midst of an important fundraiser to help offset the high costs of sports coverage on KUCB. Five hundred raffle tickets are on sale now for $15 each. Last night, the boys defeated Nikolaevsk 49-38. The boys will now move on to a tournament in Homer, where they'll play Homer, Ninilchik, and Bristol Bay.
Weather delays meant the girls weren't able to compete last night, but they are headed to a tournament in Seldovia.
