The Bobby Johnson Summer Bay Classic took place Saturday, August 4th at 1:30pm. This annual half marathon is a memorial to the late Bobby Johnson. This year twenty athletes participated.
The weather was partly cloudy and remarkably warm for the racers as they made their way over Overland Drive and around Summer Bay Lake. Zach Brown won the race on bike with a time of 1:11:58 with teen Liam Robinson coming in shortly after at 1:12:08. The first runner to cross the finish line Joanna Hinderberger with a time of 1:47:39. The race ended on Front Beach and participants headed to Town Park for the PCR sponsored Music in the Park Event.
