I've lived in Alaska for most of my life. I grew up in our states only native reserve, Metlakatla. I've worked for the ILWU for 16 years, Unisea off and on, as well as a few local bars. When my twins were younger, I was a co-leader of Girl Scout troop 109, and those were some of the funnest times of my life. My 3 kids have attended UCSD since day one. My twins graduated from Unalaska High School in 2020, during the beginning of the statewide lockdowns, and both are currently attending PAC-12 schools. My son is a freshman in high school. I live here with my fiance and his 2 boys as well.

I am running for school board seat E because I feel there needs to be more representation by parents in the school and would like for parents to be more informed on what their kids are being taught and what is going on. Also, I feel that our town is small enough that we can take each child's needs into consideration when making drastic decisions about how to move forward in cases like the last 2 years of schools being remote.

Of course, I applaud the school faculty and staff for all their efforts, they did an amazing job despite all the chaos and I would like to be of more assistance should something happen again. After seeing the work they put in to help our children continue getting their education, it inspired me to run for school board, so I can be a part of a solution rather than just talk about it.

Thank you for taking time to read this and I appreciate your support in the upcoming elections.
