Unalaska Students to be Prominently Featured in Upcoming Migratory Bird Calendar

Each year the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge produces a migratory bird calendar featuring artwork and literature created by students from within the refuge. This year, students from Unalaska will be prominently featured, with seven total pieces of artwork and literature. There will also be twelve pieces of artwork being featured in the Capitol building this April for the refuge’s display.

Rylee Lekanoff, 5th Grade,Sophia Usi, 5th Grade, and Abigail Go, 8th Grade, will be featured for their literature.

TengerPurevsuren, 1st Grade, won the manager’s choice and will be featured in the calendar for a poster.

Amy Moyer, 1st Grade, Allyssa Sevilla, 5th Grade, and Evangeline Unger, 11th Grade, will be also be featured for posters.

Vanessa Go, 5th Grade, Natahlie Namasivayam, 5th Grade, Johnny Nguyen, 5th Grade, Gage Williams, 5th Grade, Rylee Lekanoff, 5th Grade, Johnny Nguyen, 5th Grade, Vanessa Go, 5th Grade, Mackenzie Kochuten, 5th Grade, NatahlieNamasivayam, 5th Grade, Donovin Loy, 5th Grade, and Jonathan Earnshaw, 1st Grade, will have entries, either literature or artwork, in the capitol building in Juneau during the month of April. Mackenzie Kochuten will have two.

All of the judges were impressed with the entries and stated that it was obvious that the participants worked very hard. Great job Raiders!
