The High School Department Selected Mark Anthony Flavin as Student of the Week (May 9-13, 2016) for the following reasons:

Anthony is really fun to be around and he brightens my day. He's a funny guy who cracks me up all the time. He has an inspiring curiosity and never wants to stop learning. I'm really proud of what he's accomplished in the past four years and I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for him in the future. Congratulations, Anthony! ~Mrs. Burnham, Teacher

During my first two years here, the only contact I had with Anthony was when we exchanged brief greetings in the hallway. Last year, he became my student. I require all of my students to give presenta-tions. My intent is that they become more confident and comforta-ble with public speaking. This is not meant as a torture. So, on occasion, I offer the more reserved students an opportunity to give their presentations to an audience of one – me. Anthony was offered this option. He chose to make his presentations in front of his classmates. I truly admire the courage that he displayed in stepping outside of his comfort zone. Congratulations, Anthony! You are a remarkable young man and I wish you all the best in the years to come. ~Ms. Anderson, English Teacher

Mark Anthony is the son of Brock Burlack & Jennifer Flavin.
