The Junior High Department selected Leah Bacalso as Student of the Week (January 25-29, 2016) for the following reasons:
Leah Bacalso has become an outstanding young student. She takes pride in her daily work and tries to do the best at everything she does. She is a joy to work with in class and is always willing to help out when asked to do so. Keep up the good work Leah, it will pay off in the future. ~Mr. Gibson, Science Teacher
Leah Bacalso has worked extremely hard in History class this year. Her ability to stay organized and manage her time have been the reasons why she has maintained high marks. The best thing about Leah is her positive attitude. Every morning she is greeting her peers and adults with a smile and a friendly hello. Leah had an indomitable spirit which has carried her incredibly far as a student. I have never seen her deflated; in the face of difficulty, she digs in and finds a way to be successful, putting in extra time and asking great questions. Believing in herself, combined with investing substantial energy in her work, are two key ingredients that make Leah such a remarkable role model. Leah is one of the most dedicated and focused students I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She was my student for three years and I couldn’t have asked for a more hard-working and upbeat student. She always entered my classroom with a smile, a cheery “Good morning!” and a positive attitude. I have watched her grow into an amazing young person who fully embraces the academic challenges that come her way.
