Raiders Hold Strong Against Service JV

Jennifer Tungul

On Friday afternoon, the Raiders played the Service Cougars junior varsity team in the Unalaska high school gym.  After several hours of junior high and JV scrimmages, the night’s main event kicked off with the Raider girls’ varsity team beating the Cougar girls 40-26.  After that, in the boys game, Unalaska again defeated Service with a score of 60-30.  Alyssa Tungul was the top scorer of the girls game with 14 points, and Justice Krukoff led the boys team’s scores with 17 points.

Saturday night, the boys got to start off the night, with the Raiders beating out the Cougars at 77-51.  Trevor Wilson made the most baskets, with 15 points worth.  In that night’s girls game, the Cougars got their revenge by outscoring the Raiders, 37-29.

Unalaska will continue their season on the 29th, with the girls traveling out to face Dillingham while the boys play the Wolverines here at home.  KUCB plans to run both home and away games, pending game schedule.
