The Ballyhoo Lions Club held their annual Easter Breakfast on Saturday, March 26th at the UCSD high school small gym. Every year, the Lions provide breakfast free of charge, but donations are accepted.
Lion Frank Kelty was pleased with the event and said it brought in more money than most years. This year, the Lions raised $4,200 from the steady flow of more than 200 people who attended the event and generously donated. Funds will be used for the Lions Club college scholarship program.
The Lions Club solicits donations for food, prizes, and Easter baskets. Kelty wanted to thank the community for their great show of support. He said that the event would not have been possible without the contributions of Westward, Alyeska, the Grand Aleutian Hotel, Safeway, Alaska Ship Supply, the Ounalashka Corporation, and the School District.
