Volunteers had fun with a Halloween episode of Flash! Unalaska in 2014.A central messaging system that serves our community through local productions and a scrolling Community Bulletin Board. Staff collaborates with volunteers to create about 10 hours of local programming per week. Our signature weekly show is called Flash! Unalaska and it has been on the air since 1988. Channel 8 also runs local documentaries, live City Council meetings, archival content, and rebroadcasts of community events and lectures.

Coming Soon: Our Biggest Fundraiser of the Year!

The most entertaining television event of the year is right around the corner!  It's the Channel 8 Auction and it's coming to Unalaska on February 26 and 27, live from the Burma Road Chapel. We hope that you'll make a party out of it: invite your friends over, tune in, bid high and bid often to support community television. We'll have lots of great items again this year and our staff and volunteers can't wait to bring you another great show!  Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates and information about auction items.

In addition to great items and bidding fun, this is our annual television pledge drive. We are member-supported and your donation helps us continue to bring you the programming you enjoy including Flash! Unalaska, live City Council meetings, and coverage of nearly every community event that takes place in our community.  ANY amount makes you a member of Channel 8 and we are happy for memberships of all sizes.

  • Each $25 you donate gets you an entry into a drawing for a round-trip, system-wide Alaska Airlines ticket.  The drawing will be held on Flash! Unalaska on March 23.
  • Each $50 membership comes with T-shirt (and two entries into the drawing!)  We have two awesome shirts this year, the pony design shown above and the pirate ship design by Rodrigo Caudillo that was introduced in October.
  • We still have pirate ship hoodies for memberships of $125.
  • Pledging is easy!  Just click on "DONATE"  at the top of this page.  You can also give us a call at the station at 581-1888 or stop in during business hours.

Don't forget to tune in on the 26th and 27th for a fun-filled auction!
