There was a great turn out for the 25th Ice Cream Social, which took place last Sunday from 1pm to 4pm in the small high school gym.
Over 46 local businesses, boats, and community members donated over 200 door prizes, but it was the massive amounts of ice cream that stole the show.
Coordinator Susan Carlile said there were over 60 gallons of ice cream consumed in three hours, along with 15 cans of whipped cream and large amounts of hot fudge, strawberries, cherries, and candy toppings.
High school students, parents, and community members volunteered to help scoop ice cream, serve toppings, and set up and clean up. After expenses, the preschool made a little over $4,000 to support the program in Unalaska. Ms. Carlile wishes to extend thanks to our generous and supportive community!
